Who We Are

The Summit Institute for Law and Policy is a nonprofit dedicated to safeguarding constitutional principles and promoting judicial restraint. We use education, research, and strategic litigation to promote judicial restraint, strengthen the rule of law, and build public trust in our legal system. Our work spans workshops for civic and legal leaders, in-depth policy analyses, and public interest litigation. Based in Utah, we serve the broader Rocky Mountain West.

Why It Matters

In a time of political polarization and public mistrust, the Summit Institute stands for accountability and principled governance. By advancing constitutional integrity and judicial restraint, we work to ensure that the law is applied fairly and consistently.

What We Do

Nonpartisan Education – We host workshops for civic leaders, students, and legal professionals to deepen understanding of the Constitution and equip citizens to engage in informed public life.

Policy Research & Analysis – We provide clear, evidence-based reports that help policymakers, communities, and courts navigate complex legal and constitutional questions.

Strategic Litigation – We pursue carefully chosen legal cases that strengthen accountability, preserve constitutional boundaries, and protect the rights of individuals and communities.
